Decentralised PI controller design based on dynamic interaction decoupling in the closed-loop behaviour of a flotation process

An enhanced method for design of decenralised proportional integral (PI) controllers to control various variables flotation columns is proposed. These are multivariable processes characterised by multiple interacting manipulated and controlled variables. The more than one variable not an easy problem solve as a change in specific affects variable. Paper proposes improved decentralized PI through the introduction decoupling interconnected model process. Decoupling system has proven be effective strategy reduce influence interactions closed-loop consistently keep stable. mathematical derivations algorithm procedure described detail. behaviour performance systems without with application was investigated compared simulations MATLAB/Simulink. results show that decouplers - based better decouplers. highest improvement (2 50 times) steady-state error 1.2 7 times settling rising time. Controllers can easily implemented.
